Tomorrow Is Women’s Equality Day!
94 years ago, women in the U.S. were granted the right to vote when the 19th Amendment became law. It was a turning point in the struggle for women’s rights – it took 72 years of campaigning by a huge civil rights movement.
We’ve come quite a ways since then, but there’s still work to be done. Organizations such as Equality Now and Womankind Worldwide work to prevent the discrimination and violence against women. Women in Toys is a professional networking base for women working in the toy industry.
Consider celebrating today by supporting women’s empowerment projects, or educate yourself on the subject! The National Women’s History Project has a lot of information about today, including a quiz.
